Whoo.  So now I’m supposed to be writing a reflection for my English Creative PBA (for those that don’t know, PBA=Portfolio Based Assesment, or Preformance Based Assesment, or any other relating word beginning with ‘P’, and they’re our equivilant of finals, except a lot more work and a much bigger pain in the ass).  Of course, reflections are the easiest piece of bullshit ever invented, and I’m pretty sure all teachers know and agree with that statement, but however they are standard requirement and therefore simply MUST be completed.  So I’m completing.

Speaking of English, of course my teacher was absent the day I was late because I was finishing the editing for HER essay.  Grrr she pisses me off sometimes.  But oh well, she’s still an amazing teacher.

My film for digital has really started to come together, though it pisses me off how slow everything moves in the shots vs. the very quick cuts, which make it all feel very off balance.

Lmao.  “Juliet” by LMNT just started playing off my iTunes.  Remember that song?  Ugh, amazing.  I love it.  I’m such a loser.  Shutup.

Math, Spanish, and Science were uneventful.  The usual boring crap that I don’t really listen to, you know?  Important Spanish quiz on Wednesday that I’m a little bit worried about but not too much.  We had the most bullshit quiz in Science today.  It was on the rubric for our final (yes, you heard me correctly).  So we all walked into class today and we were like shit lemme take one last read at that rubric and then stuff it away before he notices, and then my teacher goes “oh you’re allowed to use the rubric to answer the questions, I just want to see who still has the rubric and who doesn’t.”  So it was very what the fuck . . . but that’s how science is a lot of the time, even though it is a lot of fun.

Today I went to the mock Presidential Debate at my school.  It was alright.  It was entertaining since everyone was running over on their time and dissing all the other people, but otherwise I wasn’t really listening, which was probably a problem, lol.  I only went for the extra credit anyway.

Beat my high score on Jetman, won a few games of Solitaire more than usual, so I guess my areas of procrastination have been pretty sucessful lately which is very exciting.

In order to create more progressive meathods of procrastination for myself, I’ve decided that I’m going to make it my job to help my closest friend become a happier person.  Currently she’s overloaded with work that she’s too smart for but isn’t acing like she should.  She flips out about lots of stuff and is quite unsatisfied, as far as I can tell.  Any suggestions?  I’m trying to get her to make a list of what she wants, but I think that my suggestions are beneath her, simply because I go to a not-so-elite school and don’t take everything quite so seriously and think all of her problems are ridiculous and can be fixed.  Not to say that any of the aformentioned details are false, but they are kind of unfair.

Anyway, I suppose I’m out, for now.  Gotta finish this ‘reflection’.

:D

I’m supposed to be essay-editing, so of course I’m avoiding it.  I’ve got a new layout!  Whoo!  I hope you all like it.  On the side is a bunch of stuff, but in particular I would like to point out my music widgit, which features a bunch of songs by The Format and the new iPod nano commercial song, which I like a lot, by Feist called 1234.  Unfortunately I couldn’t find any of the other music that I said I liked, so I did what I could . . .

I hope y’all are having a nice day, weekend, whatever.  PostSecret still hasn’t updated, which is mildly upsetting but I suppose I’ll get over it.  What does “afternoon” mean anyway?  Like, the stroke of noon, or a few seconds after?  Or is it like 12.05?  Perhaps ‘afternoon’ means 1.22, which is the time my computer says it is right now.  Alas, perhaps not, there’s still no update.

I’m supposed to be online looking up the definition of ‘prudence’, but so much for that.  Anyone here care to explain to me what it means so that I can find another word to describe it with for this crappy assignment?  We just read 1984 (George Orwell, pretty good.  I like the whole philosophical feel to it.) and so we’ve taken the first part of the Declaration of Independence (there are too many fucking e’s in Independence, don’t you think?) and we’re supposed to re write it the way we’d say it, and then adjust it so it goes along with the ideology of 1984.  Which is interesting, but it’s turning us into a class of Winston’s (it was his job to rewrite old documents for the government so that everything ever written was always true to the present at any given moment).  Creative and all, but fucking time consuming.  And yeah, we could’ve done it in the two class hours we were given, and then I’d just have to type it up now . . . but I’m too lazy for that shit!  It’s not like we’re really being graded on this, I don’t think.  We’ve already got a huge essay due that we have to get back like a week after we hand it in, and it’s a little obvious that my teacher is a really slow grader . . . whatever.  I will stop being pissy and go finish this, besides, Dad just walked in from D.C.  We missed him, naturally.  So I’m gonna go.  Enjoy the new look!

:D

Okay so I thought I’d posted this, but clearly I got distracted and somehow clicked save instead of publish.  Whoops.  Anyway, so I just dyed my hair.  And I think I’m going to post a picture because it’s absolutely beautiful, I think anyway. So here’s a pic: Hairdye I hope you like it, and ignore my face looking like crap please. I haven’t quite mastered the art of being a camera whore and to be honest my mom doesn’t have a great camera. Oh well.

:D

So, now that I’ve got readers (thanks Aly, haha yay more shoutouts!), I figure I ought to say something about who I am.  For the purposes of this blog, I suppose my name will be R.  Okay, fine.  I’m Renata.  Complete truth.  But I like being all mysterious, so I’ll be R.  I’m 15 (16 in April), and I’m a sophomore at Beacon (a libral artsy public selective school near Colombus Circle/Lincoln Center in Manhattan).  I love writing, and reading, and YES I am a dork who loves math.  I don’t really love history and science, but maybe that’s just cause I’ve never had absolutely AMAZING history and science teachers (except for in seventh grade, my history teacher was gorgeous and perfect).  I’m into meeting new people and I’m forever online.  Always.  I’m kinda shy if I’m with a lot of people that I don’t know, but when I’m with my friends or people I’m comfortable with I tend to be loud and obnoxious.

I’ve got a little sister (13, 14 in November) and I’m lucky enough to have two loving parents who are still cool with each other.  I’ve got two kitty cats, who I love a lot, and my sister’s currently housing two fishies and a frog who all have names that end in i.

I’m a very obsessive person.  VERY.  I’m on Facebook and YouTube half the time, and I religiously check PostSecret every Sunday and I try to go onto this Harry Potter Sims blog that’s really funny and a Mac/PC relationship community that always makes me happy.  ImprovEverywhere saved my life . . . I’ve been involved with two of their missions and love them to death.  Found is also pretty cool, so I check up on their site every day.  I Love You Because, RENT, Avenue Q, Wicked, Spring Awakening, and [Title of Show] are my favorite musicals.  I will listen to them with you all the time, any time.  They will always make me laugh and make me happy, well most of the time.  As for bands, I’m obsessed with Fountains of Wayne (they did Stacy’s Mom, but that’s definitely not their best song), Bowling for Soup, and recently The Format, Motion City Soundtrack, Something Corporate, The Hush Sound, The White Stripes, R.E.M., and Hellogoodbye.  And a lot more.  I don’t expect you to click on every link, but do click the first few.  I promise, you won’t be wasting your time (and they aren’t shitty spam links with viruses).

I like movies.  Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my favorite, though The Breakfast Club is a close second.  And there are many others.  Feel free to ask to view my DVD case filled with my favorites.  I created this blog mostly because I love talking about myself (if you haven’t noticed).  I’m buying a new iPod soon, I hope, because my silver mini (yes, it’s ancient) is almost out of memory.  My hair will be dyed red by Monday, I hope.  I’m very excited.

I’m forever tired.  I’m smart (fuck you if you hate me for it) and I’m not afraid to kiss up to get good grades, and I don’t care if people hate me for that either.  I have the mouth of a sailor, though if I’m around adults I tend to self sensor, so much so that it will sound like I’m an innocent girl who never curses.  I think sexually first, realistically second.  That’s just the way my brain works.  I like learning about life in other places.

Damn this is a long post.  I figure I’ll end it here, since I know you guys can’t possibly want to hear MORE about my obnoxious life.  Though if you do, feel free to comment with questions that I will answer in my next post, whenever that happens to be.  Love you all!  Keep reading.

:D

I know I’ve been slacking a bit, but to be honest there hasn’t been much to talk about.  Went back to school (I’m thankful for the routine, though it’ll probably soon be done with cause of PBA week).  Bought hairdye, haven’t used it yet though.  Probably will apply it this weekend.  Listened to I Love You Because.  Got back my Final Draft of my English creative PBA final, 100%!  Shipping was delayed for my pretty Subtle Knife book until Tuesday : (

I’m still waiting for more comments on the page . . . I love them and appreciate them, promise!  I don’t really care if I know you or not, it’s just nice to see who’s reading.

Beacon Ink was today (literary magazine at my school, of which I’m an editor).  Worked on a layout that came out quite nicely.  Had lots of fun discussing assorted things, like pornography and weird widgits on the macs at our school.  ;)  Fun times.  Well tomorrow/the weekend should be interesting.  I’ll post more then.

:D

Well, there you have it.  Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while, I haven’t been up to it/haven’t found a spare moment.  Not much has happened though, so you haven’t missed out ; )  New Years was spent, as usual, up in New Paltz.  ‘Twas a blast (I’ll shout out to Jill and Craig.  Hey guys!).  Ohmygod who knew that there was a shortcut for strikethrough?  Sexayy.  Okay, sorry that was my fake-ADD kicking in.  New Paltz was great though, lots of junky food (my stomach is still feeling ill), and lots of movies (okay, two, Music and Lyrics and The Breakfast Club), ping pong (I lost every game.  Shutup), and air hockey (I won some games (score!).  Lots of fun had by all, I believe.

I got sick, but now I’m kind of better which is good.  However, the BEST news of this year is . . .

52 views on this page!!! YAY!

I’ll admit it, at first I didn’t think there would be many people coming here to look at this, maybe a few of my friends if I nagged them, but other than that not much.  I have been pleasantly surprised.  Thanks : ) I really appreciate it.  And if you comment, I’ll throw you a shout out, promise (though if you comment a lot I don’t think I’ll shout you out every time . . . that would get kind of tedious).  In that note– shout out to Aly for her comment, thanks loads (comments really do make my day).  Her blog is pretty sweet (linked in her name)– go check it out!

In other news, school tomorrow.  Not particularly excited, but at the same time, not not excited, if you get my drift.  After today, our next day off is going to be PBA week (starts 18 January), which will not be fun.  But, you know, it’s still half-days that whole week so if anyone wants to hang please drop a comment and we’ll make plans.  I have a killer calender now, so I can write it all down (It’s Suicide Bunnies–ever heard of them?  They’re brilliant.  Very entertaining.)

Anyway, I suppose that’s it for now.  Love to you all, and best wishes for New Years (I don’t have resolutions . . . I don’t really enjoy setting myself up for failure).
